Hello, and welcome to my now monthly newsletter! Here you’ll find news about the indie art world and what goes on within it. Every newsletter will have a “featured artist” at the end, so please check them out and support their work! I hope to gain a new audience for these, as well as a small team to help find as many things to showcase every month as possible!

July 31st, 2025 - Indie animation studio “Thrash & Bash” has released a pilot for their first web series project “Plinko & Mark,” following the wacky antics of the titular duo as they get into trouble in the big city. “ Meet Plinko, the roommate with high energy and a need to express himself in any way possible; Whether or not his forms of enrichment are legal doesn’t seem to bother him, as he is a well known criminal in the city. Mark, the much more level-headed thinker, is just glad that he has a friend to room with in his downtown apartment despite their opposite views on life.

Founded in 2024, Thrash & Bash is a non-profit, volunteer driven indie studio, and they are always looking for new talent as well as new project ideas!

“THRASH & BASH is an independent studio with a focus on giving creatives the ability to bring their own concepts to life! We plan to produce cartoons, comics and eventually video games! With time, we will expand into a robust team that will meet the demands of these art forms! Thrash and Bash is entirely nonprofit as of now, so it is run solely on dedication and volunteer work.”

August 18th, 2025 - Czech animator Kate, (also known as “Asha Phaedra”) creator and artist behind the animated web series “Load Aim Burn,” is currently looking for new artists to join her team! These auditions come after a massive positive response from the first episode of her series, and the desire to bring the next episode to life. The last time she has asked for help in the creation of the series was back in 2021 with her first artist audition video.
A trailer was released for the second episode of Load Aim Burn on December 27th of 2024, which revealed new characters such as Ms. Safida the vulture (voiced by Helen O'Connor,) and the mysterious cat Sandra (voiced by Vivian Reed.) The August auditions will be open until September 20th, 2025.
August 24th, 2025 - Youtube commentator and artist “Izzzyzzz” has released their long awaited animated pilot for their indie web series “Wastlandia,” a slice of life comedy following the struggles of becoming an adult in a confusing world: Zoe, the college dropout, Alice, the ambitious art student, and Moth, the web savvy retail worker.

The first trailer for the pilot of Wastelandia was first released on April 18th, 2025, and has since gained a large following not only from their regular channel viewers, but the wider online space looking for fresh, stylized indie animated content. Izzy and their team have worked relentlessly to bring this passion project into the world, and hope to release a full series for free on Youtube. Izzy will continue to work on their own videos in addition to producing this series.
August 29th, 2025 - Miranda Toney, also known online as “Mirandamations,” has released a brand new clip for her animated series “Atlas and the Stars.” The first episode of the series was released on December 29, 2023, and has since gained a large cult following for its vibrant visuals and unique designs. While there is no current release date for the second episode as of the time of writing, fans hope to see the continuation of the series soon!

August 29th, 2025 - A trailer for a brand new animated web series, “Castaways” has been released on Youtube Shorts, Tiktok, and Instagram. Directed by Dayton Mills of Branch Technologies Inc, the series follows 15-year-old Merk (played by Sarah Natochenny) as he discovers the mysteries behind his teleportation to the hidden islands within the Bermuda Triangle. The first episode of Castaways is set to release on September 5th, 2025.

September 2nd, 2025 - A brand new indie game, “Star Garden,” has been fully funded on Kickstarter the same day of its launch! In just two hours, the game reached its funding goal of $35,000, with a demo also releasing on Steam the very same day. This colorful world is full of interstellar encounters, high speeds, and adorable creatures known as “Lumi” that you can raise and care for to level them up; Even better, they can turn into vehicles for you to ride on in your journey!

The Kickstarter has reached at least seven more stretch goals after its initial goal was met, showing just how much support early fans are expressing for a game of this type. The development team at Game Garage LLC hope to release the full game on all platforms, but will be focusing on its PC release as of now. No release date has been announced as of the time of writing.

Mewymarsher is a digital illustrator whose vibrant colors, bold lines, and signature hatched-style rendering, give his art the look and feel of a storybook!
“Hi ya’ll, I’m Mewy Marsher and I’m a trans artist who specializes in drawing animals and cartoons. For me, I find having fun plays a big role in my artistic process. If I’m not having fun creating something, then I usually don’t finish it! The things I have most fun drawing are my cats, raccoons, hyenas, and stuffed animals. Although, I’m also a big Mega Man fan, and will draw robots when I get the urge! Though I don’t post these online as much, I also like sewing plushies and creating polymer clay figurines. Basically, if it’s fun to make, I’ll probably try it!”
